now blasting: Rage Against the Machine - Township Rebellion [05:24m/192Kbps/44KHz]
seriously, since 1993 i haven't been able to get enough.
there are plenty of other bands i dig, but these motherfuckers are different than anyone.
not only that, but de la Rocha writes amazing lyrics, Morello is an incredible guitarist, and Tim and Brad are the only musicians who could ever have been in that band.
i think Rage were/are the perfect example of non-commerical commercial success.

Audioslave was the best thing to ever happen to Rage Against the Machine.
It's true.

Chris Cornell = Soundgarden
Zack de la Rocha = Rage
this never should have changed.
Audioslave are horrible, imho.

I liked Rage Against the Machine.
When I was in the 9th grade.

I've been a huge fan of theirs since '93.
Their message has a lot of merit, to this day.

They are easily one of the top 100 bands of all time as far as I'm concerned, purely because of Tom Morello's guitar style. Without his wierdly simple yet somehow slightly complex riffs, Rage would be nothing.

As far as I've heard, he
wrote amazing lyrics. According to the rumor mill, he's currently off being a ex-rich ass rock star and current militant anti-politics crazy man.
I still love Rage though. Evil Empire, man.

Oh yeah. Completely in agreeance.

Audioslave is garbage.
I saw Rage at the first or second or third Lollapalooza. I forget which one. Anyway, the singer started by yelling "don't buy the t-shirts here, they're a ripoff". All I could think was a) so was the ticket and b) don't tell me what to do asshole.
I agree with 2twenty6ix but I disagree with JSD so it all evens out.

ya rly.
I never liked Rage for exactly this reason. The whole faux-Marxist, power-to-the-people angle was just so fake. The band fires off all this bullshit leftist ideology, yet is signed to a major-label deal with one of the largest corporations on earth and shows up to win Grammys. I don't care how much creative control they claim to have had with Sony, that's just wrong on principle.
Now if they had taken the same path as a band like Fugazi, then maybe their stance wouldn't have come off like so much posturing.

omg I love you. I've been saying that for a while. Well not quite that well, but the gist of it.
The whole anti capitalist thing, but merch, the cds, the concert tickets.
fuck all that

Saw Rage 4 days ago.
De La Rocha had the biggest fucking smile on his face.
100 minutes of absolutely no filler.
Almost passed out twice, didn't end up in a stretcher and some random blonde showed me her tits when I asked her for a light.
Australia is weird that way, and it was the best gig I have ever been to.
Pictures and footage to come...
