From the IMDB plot description:

A spy recently disavowed by the US Government uses his Special Ops training to help others in trouble.

That's more or less it. He doesn't know why he's been "burned" so I guess that will be the major ongoing story arc. Bruce plays one of his only friends, and Gabrielle Anwar plays his ex-gf. It's set in Miami, so lots of hot girls are present in many scenes. Seems a decent summer show that looks to have potential, but we'll have to see.

Cool. (though I meant network information as much as anything else, 'cuz I don't get any of the super premium HBO, Showtime, etc.)

I see that it's on USA, though, so I'll set it up to be recorded and check it out. Definitely sounds like it has some promise.

Tho USA shows have promise they usually fizzle.

The network seems to opt for the safe and moral high ground in most of their message of the week shows.

Might explain why I haven't watched anything on USA since "Renegade".

Then again, until we got On Demand and now DVR, I didn't watch any adult TV (i.e. ...as opposed to children's programming, not the stuff that the religious right fights to outlaw and then goes home to watch) at all except for a couple shows on Food Network (which repeats things over and over and over so they're easy not to miss).

The premier of Burn Notice is being recorded to DVR as I type. Will report on it later.

I'll file Burn Notice under "good" but not "great" so far. I'll dvr the next few episodes and see how I feel then.

I guess it just didn't grab my attention all that well, because I like the premise and some of the more interesting spy "tips and tricks" that the voice-overs teach as he performs the act.

It's getting a little too 80's Magnum PI already.

They're going one way when they should be headed in the other. It's leaning to the comedy and away from the action which is too bad.

I hardly watch TV, especially in the summer, so I was oblivious to this. Gabrielle Anwar is enough to peak my interest, so to the torrent I go, as it seems they're only repeating the last two episodes.

I think the last thing I seen Gabrielle Anwar in was "If Looks Could Kill".

Anyone remember that? I probably watched that 50 times... HBO had that on heavy rotation when I was a kid. Good stuff.

I'm enjoying it...it's certainly better than 4400. But it isn't great. As summer shows go, its better than most by damn sight.

On a side note, I am thoroughly annoyed at the voice overs. When he says stuff like "When you go to rob a bank, there are 3 ways that you can do it that will work..." The reason I am annoyed is because of 'deus ex machina' the writers can have him say 'the right thing' because they are writing the story to work the way he says it does...not necessarily as plausible reality. A specific example is when he says "the mafia won't kill you...if they have bigger plans for you". Of course they didn't kill him, because the story needs to continue; not cuz his character believably knew they wouldn't.

I suspend my disbelief a little more than Smash does, apparently. I'm enjoying the voice-overs and take them at face value for the program. Actually, on the Burn Notice website they have video guides to how a "spy" would handle different situations, all done in the "Burn Notice Voice-Over" (tm) style that we're used to by now. Pretty funny.

The show has grown on me. It gained alot of cred when that Chocha chick actually got killed. If it would have happened at all, it wouldn't have been so blatant or deliberate on Magnum P.I.

Gabrielle Anwar's outfit that clearly showed the outline of her nips an episode or two ago got my juices flowing, too. That doesn't hurt when you want to gain my viewership.
