House [Careful, I spoil heartlessly]

Post by Seriously » 06 Sep 2006 23:10

Season three started last night.

He wore pink and ran eight miles, but he's still a jackass!

Actually, I thought the whole kettamine thing was part of the hallucination, but I'm not annoyed about it.

Next week: Alien abductions!

After seeing scenes from next week's House, I'm left desperately hoping they aren't about to jump the shark.

I mean, they actually showed the kid floating in mid-air in a beam of light above his hospital bed.

Have they already run out of actual cool medical cases to keep audience attention?

I'm already hoping his leg goes bad again real soon, as I'm betting it will. I miss the old crotchety House, do not want X-Games House. :(

I did not read anything you two guys wrote in fear of spoilers. I have the first 2 seasons and have yet to watch any of them....

Actually, for now, I hope his leg stays good. I think he's still a miserable asshole, but now it's his inability to be satisfied by doing good that is his primary source of misery instead of physical pain. He gets satisfaction from being able to move right, but still not from doing right.

Also, I'm pretty sure the kid's just seeing things in that clip.

as usual, a keen insight, Seriously.

I really enjoyed a few highlights from last season, most notably, his decision to terminate things with Sela Ward's (Warner) character. The whole dialogue between House and Robert Sean Leonard's character (Wilson) was the key. Basically, Wilson said that House didn't cut Warner out of nobleness to give her a better life, and therefore remain unhappy but content at saving her from a life with him; instead he did it because he needed a reason to remain miserable. That living with her, he'd still be a miserable crotchety old bastard but with 'no good reason' to be.

Last night's episode was kind of the flip side of that, IE needing to find some 'high' in his work and being incapable of.

His leg won't last, and we all know it. A big arc of the season will be his slow descent back into the miserable old House. I think it'll be good story telling. I'm not so sold on Cameron falling for House again... but I'll reserve judgement...for now.

This really has nothing to do with anything, but

I just got a little gayer.

I missed last night due to unavoidable Acts of God, but I'm hearing canes are now figuring heavily into the equation again?

Dammit, that was fast, I guess the response was overwhelmingly negative.

Oh well, maybe now they can clean that fucking carpet.

It can't be about the response. The episode was already written and 'in the can' before the first even aired.

It's just to make him even more cantankerous.

lalalalaaaaaa

...I'm not listening...

la la la la la la la

...it's all because of the philistine viewers...

Ohh, what if House goes bat-shit insane and holds the hospital hostage?

And then Ron Livingston has to come talk him down?

And then David Boreanazazeraeaz has to find the body of the guy he killed with that machine? But it's really hard because he did it in a dream so he just frames him for killing some senator's kid? So then he has to bust out of prison, but Jack Bauer thinks he's a terrorist who wants to bring down the president using the copy of the medical history he has that says the president got the clap from a little boy or something?

These are all terrible ideas.

Did I leave out a show?

House is good fun. Except the fucking network that shows it here just mashes all of season 1 and 2 together so in my house universe, House is double dipping Cuddy AND Cameron at the same time while Foreman is mysteriously dying one week and being House's pet B&E nigger at the same time.

That Aussie doctor, can't remember his name, he's gay. They should kill him off. Seriously. Replace him with William Shatner, or something.

His name is Dr. Robert Chase (played by Jesse Spencer).
He's dating Jennifer Morrison who plays Cameron in real life.

Just kidding, probably.

This is the happiest finale for this show, ever.

It would have worked as a series finale I think.

Not the best, but it would have worked.

But now they're going to have to get more creative than I think they can to start off next season.

I could be wrong though.

Let's pretend they're on the up-and-up:

House M.D.

starring

Hugh Laurie

Lisa Edelstein

Robert Sean Leonard

and?

Help me out here, you can stick to the archetypes or go in a completely different direction.

1:

2:

3:

Let's see,

Kristen Bell needs work.

Milo Ventimiglia might.

I'm just brainstorming.

I liked Dulé Hill.

Ooh, speaking of West Wing: Marlee Matlin

I could see her and House getting into the best fights.

Plus she's as attractive and more interesting than Jennifer Morrison.

1. Rachel Leigh Cook as Dr. Kitty DeVille

2. Ashley Scott as Dr. Scarlett Thibodeaux

3. Eliza Dushku as Dr. Jackie Garrett

And henceforth, Dr. House will communicate with his staff only through a 70's-era desktop intercom box. The girls will always refer to him as "Gregie" and show lots of cleavage from under their white coats.

While I like where your head's at, this is serious business.

Plus Eliza, though I love her, kills everything she touches nowadays.

House's dialogue in those fights would have to meet or exceed the standard set by Jaime Pressly in her scenes with Matlin on My Name Is Earl, and that's a pretty tall order.
